traffic safetyNowadays out streets and highways are filled with automobiles, motors, buses and different other vehicles, which make problems of traffic safety topical for our society. Thousands of accidents happen every day in our country, and the statistic of lethal outcomes is really scary. The majority of reasons, which usually bring to accidents and deaths on the roads, are connected with speeding and alcohol usage.

In order to decrease the amount of automobile accidents on the roads, municipal authorities and qualified traffic engineers have to organize continuous activities on providing safe and efficient traffic. It is possible to achieve this objective by implementation of a number of essential measures on strengthening traffic safety in our city. First of all, it is necessary to involve traffic engineers into the projects on improvement of traffic signs, traffic lights and other elements of traffic signaling system.

Besides, it is important to establish effective methods of control over observation of speed limits by the drivers, as well as implementing some measures on improving driver behavior, like decreasing the amount of intoxicated drivers, reducing aggressive driving, etc. Such control and proper traffic safety education must be primarily directed on young drivers, who are frequently involved into different traffic collisions and usually play dominating role in those.

It is also necessary to improve or to reform traffic education in local schools and colleges, and to find effective ways for encouraging young people to obey traffic regulations and be careful on the roads. In addition, initiation of special traffic engineering studies on identifying the most high-risk locations on the roads can become a helpful measure. Finally, local authorities must not lower the costs for such activities and programs, because nowadays improvement of traffic safety remains among the priorities of our municipal administration.
